I just moved from PA last summer when I graduated, but I'm happy to join the group since I lived in State College for 6 years.

Hello everyone! I am recently diagnosed type 2 and currently taking metformin. Diabetes is not really new to me since both of my parents, brother, sister and just about everyone else in my family is a type 2 diabetic. Mom and Dad have had below the knee amputation's with in the last six six months. My mom's dad past in december in his early 80's from diabetic complications, my wife is also a type 2 diabetic as well. So i suppose i was just next in line to get the betes as the wife says. The transition has been fairly easy so far, im used to working with limitations and have great self control when working with my body. When i was 11 i was diagnosed with idopathic scoliosis, basically my spine is in the shape of a backwards "S". At age 15 i had a spinal fusion with 2 rods placed to hold my spine till i was done growing, about 80 percent of my spine is fused. So living with a chronic everyday condition is now old hat for me. I have had my depression years and self confident issue years and have, with trial and tribulations learned to love myself and my body no matter what may happens. So if anyone needs to talk send me a message, were all in this together as far as im concerned. Thanks love B.

Hello Everyone! I am Type 1 and on a Minimed paradigm pump. I live in Bristol township and recently lost my medical coverage. What I would like to know is if anyone on here knows about individual healthcare coverage in or around my area. And if anyone knows which would be a good plan to get on????

Welcome Magnifmeggers & Corrie.

Corrie, you will manage this with all its nuances in time. It just takes a little getting used to it. Just another bump in the road of life.
