Pets and People

This group is for those that share their home with a non-human companion that is more like family than just a "pet" (but we can call them pets). Feel free to post their photos, etc. (administrator: Travis Grubbs)

PS. My mother swore no more pets after our ancient Peppper the setter passed and then proceeded to take in Silas the Siamese Cat who was with her for 22 years and Skylark who she tended to for 18 years--though, of course, Skylark was a gift to my Big Bro, leaving for college in 2 days!...Zero was of "champion" blood lines, but affordable for me because his markings were "wrong" as if I cared. He was a defender and boon companion for 15 years!

This is a blast from the past. 1973, I think. That's my dad, my old family English Setter, Skylark, and my first St. Bernard, Zero. Family and friends assembled at Lake Vermillion in waaay northern Minnesota to help my dad build his retirement dream cabin.....

Oh Carly, I'm so sorry. Many of the semi-feral kittens we took in went this way. Blessings, sweetie. It NEVER gets easier, but you do develp a process that eases the pain......

It's with a heavy heart that I need to inform you that our newest addition and little escape artist Zeus has passed away. He escaped yesterday for the last time. He was struck by a truck less than a block from my brothers house. We spent many hours looking for him. Contacted the bylaw and he phoned us back. My brother had to ID him. We are all very sad. =( He had a great few weeks with my brother and his wife..we even had a nice long walk the day before.
