ON FAERIES AND FREEDOM

Glittering, shimmering in the air,
Sunlight dancing on her hair
Two fragile wings reflecting light
Compose a strange, unearthly sight

Free flowing gossamer, soft and warm
Clothes her lithe and slender form
While movement of uncommon grace
Compliments her lovely face

She dances round the woodland trees
Hitching rides-on honeybees
And nature smile with untold pleasure
On this her small but priceless treasure

If only Mankind would commune
And with the Earth could stay in tune,
Perhaps we all might be as free
As the maiden fair and honeybee.

I mostly have written songs, and stories but have done a bit of poetry a looooonnngg time ago :)

I haven't given poetry much of a try...mostly I write/illustrate short stories; and those are mostly directed at children. So here goes.. A Wish of dainty lace on an angry green sea, of August crimson berries dotting the Mountain Ash. A crisp morning breeze and the chilling, tingling, crinkling of the melting brook. Lemon drop suns pinned upon tangerine skies. The salt drenched scent of kelp washed in sweeping waves onto bleached sands. Tender coiled ferns and emerald moss carpeting luxuriously the forest floor. Flora in the wake of a summer shower....the heady cologne. Powdery fragile golden butterflies touching, tickling lavender clover, and charcoal silhouettes of young poplars against a feverish dome...ink etchings on dusky silk. Away with the stress of the day! Roses and lilacs, love and happiness...rest for a weary brow. 2008

Thank you Judith,your poem still rings softly in my mind,your photos deeply affected me,
Today August the 13,my second book is out,I felt like giving birth to a new child,I thought of ART 4 CHARITY,started it alone,but I am sure here together we can do more to help.I thank God that I landed here.....
