I read somewhere that there is a small device that is available to wrap the tubing around and clip to your belt/waistband to keep it out of the way. Now, I can not seem to find that little thing ANYWHERE! I looked at Pumpwear.com and a few other places, but NOTHING!
I know that kinking of the tubing is to be avoided, but just shoving the extra tubing into the top of your pants seems ridiculous too.
Also, if you connect the infusion set to the buttocks or the back of your arm, where do you put your pump?
I am new to all of this. I have lots of questions.
Right now, I am just trying to get the thing sent to me. Medtronic, Liberty Medical and my doctor's office are all in the mix somehow, but nobody is talking to each other, and they leave at 5.
I wear a MiniMed 522, and I use 43-inch Quick-sets. I simply coil up the excess tubing and tuck it in my slacks. It is almost impossible to pinch the tube enough to stop insulin flow.
With respect to wearing the set on buttocks, I use middle and upper buttocks, plus lower back. (You need to keep the sets high enough you don't sit on them!) With the 43-inch tubing you can put your pump anywhere you want. I almost always clip mine to my belt. Most folks think it's either a cell phone or a pager ....
I am trying to get used to my tubing too. i try to keep it under my clothes but it is very hard to keep it tucked in. I have the 23'' tubing and I find it to be very long for me. Maybe is because I am not a tall person. If you find something, please share with us.
Here's the link to what you're looking for. http://www.infusion-set.com/index.asp?pageid=H2306

That is it Richard! I found it yesterday at lunchtime searching the web, but I see that you found it and posted it before I could. No access to this site from my work computer! Thanks!
I was reading the comments and someone stated that they have to unwind it to take their pants down and then coil it back up? Is that true? If so, is it worth it?
I am waiting for my pump to arrive. Should be soon.
I just completed my first 24 hours with my pump and the 23 inch long tubing. I just coil it up and tuck inside of my waistband. No issues. If I were using longer tubing, I would give more thought to a device to hold it, I think.
