Comment by Judith on December 7, 2012 at 8:32pm There are tons of lo-carb recipe sites now. And we have several groups here at TuD. The most active now is Debra's Low Carb Recipe Swap. You can also consult the Groups category or search "Recipes".....And it's all free!
Comment by tcarter34 on December 7, 2012 at 6:40pm Does anyone know how I can get free copies of diabetic cookbooks sent to me?
Comment by tcarter34 on November 22, 2012 at 8:52am Thanks for everyone that responded to me. I am very appreciative of that. Thanks for the invite Vicki, I might just take you up on your offer, I have been meaning to visit a friend of mine in Denver, but just been putting it off. Now I have two reasons to go there. How can I get in touch with you outside of here? My email addy is t.carter34719@gmail.com if you are interested.
Tim
Welcome, tcarter... wow, you guys are certainly in some kind of trial -- but it's great that you are both watching diet and exercise. Keep it up and you'll eventually get to where diet and exercise are second nature, and you'll wonder how in the world you used to eat the stuff you once did! Do poke around the site, and ask LOTS of questions without feeling intimidated.
And, if there is a silver lining to your and your partner's situation, it is that you each can support and learn from the other.
I'm just up the road in Denver, so look me up if y'all are ever wanting to escape FocusOnTheFamily-ville.

Hi! I want to welcome Tcarter34, OrangeClouds, and Micah! OC and Micah, I am sorry to be slow to welcome you, hope you are still around on TuD and doing okay. Support of friends is so important, to not feel alone and to find motivation.

Comment by Judith on November 21, 2012 at 8:11pm tcarter---you have come to an excellent haven with a supportive essence and lots of good info. Roam around. Ask questions!!! I'm a lo-carber. My niece and my grandson both have 2 Moms. Yes, of course, moderating carb intake is key, but you will find here a very wide range of folks doing okay with varying degrees of that. Now, take a breath and be calm. I'm sorry I didn't find you sooner to give you great recipes for Thanksgiving, but they are here. You stay in touch now---ALL over TuD. More soon....Judith in Portland, OR, USA
Comment by tcarter34 on November 21, 2012 at 7:45pm Hey all. New to the group and I was diagnosed with type 2 in December of 2011. My partner of 4 1/2 years just got diagnosed with type 2 2 days ago. We are both struggling, because he was always the strong one, giving me support when I was depressed and all the good stuff, now it seems I am counseling him and it feels good, but weird at the same time. We both are trying to watch what we eat and excersise, but need some courage and advice from others like us. Anyone have any suggestions?
hey guys I'm new here, type 2 lesbian from ohio. looking for friends :)

Comment by SF Pete on May 24, 2012 at 11:27am Hey, Folks -- I was wondering if there was any though being given to another SF meet-up? I missed the last one so I was hoping there was a desire to get together again. Any interest?
