What hobbies do you have? What do you like to do with your time now that you don't need to work every day?

I scuba dive in the winter (in the south), tour on my motorcycle in the summer, do yoga and swim on a regular basis and work out at the gym. I also spend as much time as I can with my grandchildren. This keeps me busy and my BG in control. I love retirement!

What do you eat, normally? I'm curious as to how you feed yourself and what with, as a diabetic.
I don't know about what Sunny eats, but I usually try to follow a lowcarb diet - low in both sugar and starch but does allow small amounts of each. Works better than the older diabetic diets, such as forbidding sugar entirely but plenty of starchy foods, the lowfat diet, and the even older slow starvation diet.
I usually have an egg, bacon, buttered toast, and water for breakfast. Lunch is Diet Pepsi, yogurt, and nuts. Supper is usually meat, one or two veggies, and water. Now comes the confession part: we usually have a small bowl of ice cream about 2 hours after supper.
I like collecting US/Canadian postage stamps, reading, and being on the Internet. Unfortunately I like food, so it's hard to cut myself off, at times. Oh, and I enjoy Genealogy, as well!
I am not retired - as in, I am not a pensioner but off work because of several health issues. I do try to keep busy though and volunteer in various areas:-

Monday - day off
Tuesday - church Bible Study - in a friend's home. Sometimes we study, sometimes we have a social.
Wednesday - we have a "Young at Heart" group for pensioners in the church, one day social, one day a talk and a 3 course meal.
Thursday - working in a soup kitchen, not just for the homeless, but for anyone in the community who wants a chat, bowl of soup and cake and coffee for free! Make all the soups, though not as well as I would like, having to cater for the British palate!
Friday - day off.
Saturday - cook a meal for the builders who are helping to rebuild and expand our church.
Sunday - Church, twice, two Sundays a month helping out in the homeless kitchen making and serving food and pack ups!

Phew. No wonder I am tired! No time for work!!!
I spend too much time on the computer, either frequenting sites like this one or playing facebook apps. I also do card-making. I make homemade cards for an organization that sends them to deployed troops so the troops can have them for free to send home to their loved ones. And, a few days a week I spend a little time floating in the pool with hubby as we ponder ways to solve all the troubles of the world (no good solution yet - LOL).
I usually spend my time going to drs. appts. and the grocery store. I've got a rather large container garden in my back yard that I attend to every day, and pull the weeds from the rest of the yard for physical activity. The TV, computer and newspaper consume the rest of my time. I usually just try to enjoy my surroundings, the flora and fauna, the stars at night and appreciate that I can still see some of it. None of us know how long we have left on this planet, so if the time is getting shorter towards that end, take the time to appreciate what we have, with those that we love.
Hello All, not sure if anyone will see this as I notice it is not a very chatty group. I keep myself busy with textile art, knitting and crocheting blankets for Anglicare to distribute to West Australian needy families, I paint, housework, garden, teach tai chi and generally keep up with friends and life in general. I have just had a minor op, so as I sit hear looking out on my little garden I note the weeds are growing faster than the new plants I put in. I dug up a lawn that did not do well through the long summer months, I have the other half of the lawn to dig up as soon as I feel better. I have planted Australian native plants and native groundcovers which are generally pretty hardy in dry weather and also provide flowers for the nectar feeding birds. I belong to a book club too, which can be fun but can also be very difficult depending on the book we get to read each month. Without the local library I would be totally lost as I like to read a lot.

Tomorrow I go to the local pony club to see my grown up daughter do showjumping and cross country on her young Arabian horse. It was supposed to rain all day, but the forecast has changed to sunshine so I hope to enjoy a day of catching up with people I have not seen for a long time.
I enjoy crocheting too but haven't been able to since before Thanksgiving when I hurt my shoulder. Most people don't realize that what you do with you fingers travels up your arm to your shoulder. Looking forward to being able to do it again.
