I have no problem telling them. Maybe because I do not have it bad yet. More likely that it is an added incentive for me to eat well and exercise regularly.
yes because if she knows she would encourage you to avoid those thing you Are told to avoid and do things you are asked to do

Like everyone else I like to think its no problem, but then I get real and IT IS! although people often wont say.

back to the question that you are asking Wapels I find it both dificult and ebarasing because after telling someone things will often change a shame but reality I find.

I would love to date a T1 lady so that for once a date could be on equal terms, but I have been trying to find one and it seems near imposable. any ideas where they all are ?

yeah. somebody is of the opinion that one should wait/hide it till the relationship mature before opening up on the medical history
I have decided after years of Diabetes and a mirage, and a couple of long relationships, that Diabetic partners would work well, but of course the chemistry needs to be there too.
i think you are right because she will understand you so much, plan your meals for you and share everything (eg drugs, lifestyle etc) with you and be a good companion. but what do you think about the willingness of our ladies....... i have enjoyed living together with people living with diabetic because we plan our meals together and discuss our feelings together. it would have been pretty good, if ladies will not consider the effect on the child which is what comes into their mind immidiately you come across them....................... i wish you all the best..
All the best to you too
I do believe that the right one is there for all of us even if she seems to be somewhat elusive at the moment.
On my very first day (way back when), my blood sugar actually got low!! I was mortified. Now, I wear a pump and it comes up sometimes. If the person is right for you, then it will not matter. I have had some guys not want to continue to date because of my diabetes. If they cannot date me with diabetes, then I know they could not live with me. I would rather be upfront in the beginning.
ofcourse, someone that cannot dAte you because of DM would certainly not like to live with you. i have personally met some ladies who never considered being diabetic a bad thing once they are in love. so i think it all depend on the way individuals sees it

I'm type 1. If I'm sitting there before dinner or whatever, I whip out the meter like I always do, check my glucose and figure out my dose. While doing this, I explain that I'm diabetic. I've never hid my disease from anyone, so I'm just confused why it's even a question. I know some people communicate differently, but my style is to be honest.

Tell them the first time or very soon after you meet them. If they're shallow enough to reject a person because of something that isn't their fault, then you don't need to be dating them anyway.
Eric.
