OK, heres my scenerio...

im dating a new guy... were on date number 3... I order apple crisp for desert and he has the nerve to tell me that I shouldnt get that because Im diabetic..."oh really" i think to myself... i have to explain myself and how insulin works and now I cant enjoy my desert because I have Hitler on my ass watching me eat desert! urgh....

Then... next day... eating lunch....

I count all my carbs... pickle included... taking my insulin, he reaches over and says... " can i eat your pickle?" and proceeds to munch on my pickle... i bark "no, i accounted for that with my insulin" (im trying really hard right now with my blood sugars) he gets alarmed, puts the pickle down, awkard moment, i say, no go ahead eat it, and he says.... " no you accounted for it with your insulin"

i really dont enjoy eating out with people who make it unenjoyable... who are they to comment on what you eat and how you eat... my docs dont have a problem with what i eat, why should he...

i eat corn pops every morning... my dietician has no problem... i asked him to pick me up some corn pops for my breakfast and he says... thats not healthy, you shouldnt eat that.. your diabetic...

should i even tell people im diabetic? the pump is a dead give away...

help!

Is it difficult being all alone (atleast in your mind?) if you have :D? How hard is it for you when you interact with partners/spouse/mates who don't have :D and don't know/want to know how you are feeling? Is it difficult to live in a new place all alone?

I guess it goes without saying I am single. I live alone. I am 51. For the most part lead a very boring life. I am a type 2 diabetic and have been for @ 4 years now. I am having problems keeping it under control. Am looking for people that also have diabeties that can help me. Any kind of help, keeping me honest, moral support, or other help. I am tired of my diabeties not baeing under control. And. If I happen to meet a single female who takes a liken to me I am not going to complain.

Hi, I am gay and would like to meet other gay diabetics around ages 35-55 who may be interested in dating, or just friendship. Either is good for me. I just dont know many gay diabetic men and was hoping to meet some.

In the search engine type your state or city and people from that area will appear.

Hey everyone!
Just thought i'd introduce myself! I've been around on the boards but I don't post as much as I should!
I'm a professional ballet dancer working with 2 ballet companies in Birmingham but I'll be heading to New York to dance with Complexions ballet for the month of august before I settle down again in birmingham. I'm originally from canada. I came here 3 years ago to finish my degree. I would love to have another active diabetic in my life :)

This is truly a good place to meet others who know what you are gong through. Dating can be a nightmare if your bf/gf/wife/partner doesnt have diabetes. What is embarassing is when you have two things attached to you to reflect sugars and insulin input, and they look at you strange.
