I'm curious about this as well. I was seeing a resident at Gonda Diabetes center (UCLA Westwood), but she left without telling me! Some bed side manor! =^P

Are you looking at UCLA SM or Westwood? I looked up two at Gonda. Here are the links,

I have my first appointment with Smooke on the 23rd, but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to keep it. She had some really great reviews online regarding bedside manor and general care. Ahmadi was trained in Germany and Boston. She has some great reviews online as well. Anything in particular your looking for in an endo? Wish you all the best on finding one!

Thanks for responding.....I would like to stay in Santa Monica since its closer to me. Overall, I'm looking for an endo that is open, friendly & knowledgeable. Not too much to ask but is hard to find sometimes! I will check out the links you posted. I have never been to the Gonda Diabetes Center....do you recommend it? Thanks again!

The Gonda/Goldschmiede center is UCLA (Westwoods) main diabetes center. I read someplace that it was highly recommended, although, I can't seem to find the link now. I've been with them for some 15 years and don't have any major complaints. It actually looks like those two Endos I mentioned are at SM as well. Bare in mind I haven't seen these Docs myself, but did look up reviews on them while searching for a new Endo.

I use Dr. Anne Peters. She's with USC but takes just about every insurance (and actually shares and office with a UCLA guy). I judge all my docs by her now. I've never had one who is more involved (if you put the effort in, she's there 24/7) She's on Robertson in BH 310-657-3030. Judith is her front desk person (She can sound rushed sometimes but really gets the job done)
