TuDiabetes - A Community for People Touched by Diabetes

To me it would be:
1) Ability to enter data via Twitter and/or IM.
2) Ability to do bar charts of carbs per day instead or besides pie charts of types of food.

Integration with Calorie King Nutrition Manager's large and comprehensive food database. I want to be able to select "Egg beaters", enter the amount eaten and have SugarStats track the nutritional information.

Great feedback guys, thanks! Keep it coming, we're working hard to make SugarStats the best it can be.

As a sneak-peak: Twitter is coming and that includes everything that comes with twitter (IM, Mail, SMS, Twitteriffic and the other million 3rd party tools for it.). We are working on better graphs and redesigning the food tracking as well. Thanks guys.

I will second the Calorie King integration (or so similar food database) but I would like that to be an online resource (so no software download required.) Now I am a cheapskate because I have some many other expenses but I would like to see some of the paid features for free. I know, everyone has to make money but at least make the nutritional info (carb counting and food database) available to us cheapskates.
I love this one more than any of the others (and I have loked at a lot) primarily because of the attractive interface. I was previously using dia-log.com and it is totally free but it limits you to 2 food items and breaks the time into 30min. incriments. I am teetering on which to use. Dia-log has more available to me but Sugarstats is more pleasing grapcially.

that's my .02

Hey Chris,

We hear ya, thanks for the feedback. We're also trying to get into contact with calorie king to see what possibilities there may be with utilizing their massive food database. They've been a little elusive as of yet, but hopefully something fruitful will come out of it :-)

The USDA has an online food database that is available for free. Why not query from that? It would not have everything that CK's database has, but it at least has all of the single-ingredient items. Then for the things that don't come up in the USDA database, SugarStats members could add their own items (based on either the nutritional label, or combining single foods in a 'recipe'), and that secondary database could also be integrated into the search.

I think the problem with CK will be that they also have some diabetes-management features in their for-pay offerings, so it is somewhat of a conflict of interest.

I realize that this thread is pretty old by now, but I thought I would offer my 2 cents.

i think it would be cool if you could add weight as an entry with a graph and all. i don't know about all you other diabetics, but i could stand to lose 30 lbs, give or take 10. i can track my weight elsewhere, but sugar stats, so far, is looking like a central place for much of my health info.

thanks

I would like to improve the twitter integration. I mean, right now it displays "BG 261.0 @ Fri, 05 Dec 2008 08:16:00 -0000"

How about something like "Current Blood Glucose: xxx (comments)"

I would LOVE that, is that easy to change? or no?
