Hi Everyone, I am new to the group, but the discussions are great and I'd like to post a question.
I'm wondering now about people who have been continuously taking symlin for a while. Has anyone else noticed that the lowering/stabilizing effect it has on blood sugars (and the way it reduces insulin needs) stops working as well over time?
Are there people out there who have been taking symlin continuously for a year
or more who see the same results a year in that they did when they first started
taking it?
My partner started on symlin in April 2006, and then stopped after about a year because she found the stabilizing/lowering results on insulin needs and blood sugars started to recede. The only thing we can think to do is to stop taking the symlin for a while and start again. But then that involves getting used to it again (nausea, etc.). I am not sure if this result we've seen is common, and I also can't figure out why symlin would stop being as effective the more you use it.
If anyone has had any experience with something like this, your help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks very much in advance,
Jordana Rosenberg
