The doctor told me to cut my rapid insulin in half. What dosage of Symlin are you on?

Yes, you should end up taking about half of the rapid-acting insulin you would otherwise need. If you started two weeks ago you are probably at 45mcg by now, is that right?

it's been a while since i took simlyn... when i did, my doctor dosed it in units, since i used it in an insulin syringe. what's 45 mcg in units?

i have been on symlin for at least a year. symlin is NOT insulin. it does NOT AFFECT your novalog. if you carb count, your ratio will not change. symlin will affect hunger & fullness so you may want less to eat but that is the only way it will affect your novalog. it helps your a1c so just hang in there for awhile. wait for your next a1c. good luck
