Comment by meee on September 14, 2012 at 12:53pm I have been wondering if I should try symlyn. I feel constantly hungry when I take insulin and I've heard symlin can help with that. I have always been one to eat constantly, usually small meals and snacks. And I have had ibs for years, I'm not sure how that will affect that.
Every time I take insulin even for a correction I feel I have to eat something again.
I am worried about throwing something else in the mix though when I don't feel I've totally figured out the insulin thing yet to my satisfaction.
Do you think this could help me? I don't want to take this to lose weight, although if I end up gaining too much on insulin at some point I might I guess.
Comment by Joe Greene on June 25, 2012 at 7:36pm Day four of Symlin. I stepped up to 30mcg today, and so far, no real issues with lows or with nausea. I did cut my dinner insulin a little close tonight, though. Will have to be more careful with that.
Symlin has definitly helped me lose weight and has helped with fluctuations in blood glucose. My A1C has always looked good but that is because i've experienced lots of lows in the past. I am currently training to run for an 8 mile race. I have found that Symlin and exercise can be tricky but I gradually figuring it out. My goal is to keep myself below 200 and keep myself from getting an actual low. My cgms helps with this.
I am thinking about taking Symlin. I am currently on the pump and doing good. I have lost 14 lbs so far with dieting and exercising and my A1C has went down. I am wondering did yall get good results with losing weight and better A1C's?
Comment by camile on January 5, 2012 at 12:35pm I started taking Symlin recently and I've been waking up with higher blood sugars. Has anyone else experienced Dawn Phenomenon on Symlin?
