How I beat the bubbles

Started by Lizzie. Last reply by Lizzie Apr 25. 2 Replies

I've been using the tslim since February. By far, my biggest frustration has been with the loading process and the bubbles that I'd continue to find in my tubing for the next three days. Tandem support told me to make sure that I was using room temp…Continue

I forgot to mention that the Orbits come with either the steel or Teflon cannulas.

To all of you newbies and those still considering the t:slim: you should take the time to watch a series of videos posted on YouTube by Sarah Loebner--CalmIsAJoke. She shares her real time experiences of unpacking her t:slim to loading a cartridge and filling the tubing and cannula. She's so delightful!

Hi All, thanks for all your posts...just became eligible for a pump and my Tandem is shipping to arrive next week! The rep already came by to do a demo a few weeks back, so it looks like they are getting a bit more organized and are lining up distributors for insurers that have not authorized Tandem (I have Aetna and Edwards Health is doing the pump).

I was just informed that my T:Slim pump is on it's way!! I have researched this pump going back to when it was just a new design and concept.

I can't wait to "hook up"!

I am the first one is our area to be on the t:slim and my team doesnt really know what all the new t:slim supplies are yet. I have the cleo90's and they rotate also, really small and stick very well. I also have to pry them off, with the medtronic ones i would be bright red and have infection where the cannula was inserted for the next week. with these im not having any issues. Thanks for the info on the Orbits, good to know if I ever want to try them. :)

Thank God for the butter section of our fridges! That's where I keep mine too! :-)

Here's a You Tube on Orbits. It two versions, one with a steel cannula which I use and love and it also has a teflon cannula. The tape sticks really well and sometimes I have to pry it off. I love that it rotates and the blue tube really does make it easy to see bubbles. I wouldn't go back, but I have never tried Cleo's. Plus they will send you a free sample.
