Ok this is the third change I've done on the tSlim now. I take time to try to make sure all the bubbles are out. And it seems to me that they are. But I've noticed a bubble in the lure lock. I can't get it out either. As much as I tap it the bubble…Continue

So right now Tandem is in the process of seeing if they can get my insurance to cover this insulin pump for me. I have so far found out that I am 100% covered so no out of pocket which is exact same thing that happened when I got my Omnipod. The…Continue

I've been using the tslim since February. By far, my biggest frustration has been with the loading process and the bubbles that I'd continue to find in my tubing for the next three days. Tandem support told me to make sure that I was using room temp…Continue

Comment by Kevin on November 30, 2012 at 3:42pm Thanks. I had a similar experience to yours Linda when I switched to the Animas Ping. Since I had a Minimed, I just programmed it in a similar manner. A week later someone called to schedule training and I mentioned I'm already using it. I didn't have any further questions so she was fine with that. If you're an experienced pump user I think it's pretty intuitive since they all operate in a similar manner. It's just learning how to navigate to the various functions which is very easy with the t:slim.
Kevin, I got it out of the box and started it myself. I told the girl that called me to set up the training that I had already done it. She said she would have a trainer call me to make sure I didn't have any questions. Nobody called, and I have done just fine!
Comment by gbbassethound on November 30, 2012 at 3:00pm I've been on a pump for years so I set mine up and was wearing it right away. I did go through the training later but we just did it over Skype. I believe they are required to do the training.
Comment by Kevin on November 30, 2012 at 2:51pm For people who were on another pump before switching to the t:slim, did you bother with "training" before using it? It's so easy to set up with settings from my old pump that it seems pointless to deal with training.

Comment by Kevin on November 29, 2012 at 3:10pm Just found out my new t:slim will arrive tomorrow! It will replace my Animas Ping pump which is now out of warranty. I haven't been very happy with the Animas pump which is too bad since they're manufactured a couple miles down the road from where I work. But I'm excited about smaller size and touch screen. It seems like most people here are happy with it.
Hi Heather! I agree with everything Janice said. I first started pumping on a Medtronic Minimed then went to the Animas 2020 and then the Ping and now I am using the T-Slim and am very, very happy with it. It is like Janice said beautifully simple/intuitive. I would definitely see if you can get a rep to show you one or maybe your doctor's office has one you can try. Good luck with your decision.

Comment by Heather on November 27, 2012 at 5:51pm I'm brand new here, however I have been diabetic since age 16th months. I am on humalog insulin right now on a Medtronic Minimed pump. I've been on the pump since 6th grade. I received an 'upgrade' in 10th grade. However, last week I tried to bolus and it kept saying no delivery. I changed my set and thought my bolus was working- however I tested about 3 hours later and I was 550. I changed my set again, and it then said Motor Error. I started to get dizzy and sick very fast. I was unconscious by the time I got to the E.R, and was in the process of DKA. I was very upset with Medtronic, right now I am on a lender pump from them and have 30 days to find a new one. I'm not sure if I should get the T:Slim or go back to Medtrnoic. Can anyone give me any input? Especially about the T:Slim? I know it is a brand new product, but I figured someone should know something about it. I have looked into the omnipod but it doesn't appeal to me for a few reasons. I hope I can get some fed-back. Thank you guys so much! Looking forward to this community !
