This is such an amazing group! I've been a member for the last 2 years, and it has been wonderful. I encourage every woman with diabetes who wants to be fit to join!

I am a wild and crazy woman. I love to swim. If anything in this world gives me pleasure about my diabetes, it's being able to say "I have to swim, doc's orders"....I don't find my diabetes to be a scourge for me, but a reason to prove to myself that I love me. I am a good and wonderful woman who deserves to be alive and full of live. most often live is good, I have two beautiful young men children, a wonderfully loving husband of 32 years and two beautifully adorable beagle dogs. Life is fine, except for where I live, and we are changing that soon.

I am Wild and crazy.

Mari - do you want a full resume or just what I have done with athletics in the past 10 years.....????? I have only been involved in athletics for the past 10 years when my doctor says with an A1C at age 50, "AT the rate you are going with a 9.0 A1C, you will not live to see your grandchildren." Still don't have grandchildren, but I do have a much better body and life!

Connie, can you send me an email at mruddy@teamwild.org and let me know your info?? Thanks! I was a classroom Spanish teacher for high school for 6 years. Then a high school principal. Now for my living (team WILD isn't just yet a fiscally viable operation!) I coach teachers, principals and leaders of small non profits. Great job on that A1C!!! Way to go!

I'd love to speak. I am a retired teacher so I not only have the time but also have the experience with several sports and type 1 diabetes, and I love to speak and entertain people. Just got my last A1C.......5.8!

Connie, you are so amazing! Maybe at some point you could be a WILD guest inspiration speaker!!! We are super committed to the education, coaching and community of women with diabetes. Our Cycling Team coach is Nicole Freedman. She was in the Olympics in 2000 in Sydney and she was also the US Women's Road Champion then the Women's US Criterion Champion. She started coaching me and she decided to become an expert in diabetes... which she now is!!! That's why she's the Team WILD coach!!!
