Emily, you named your pancreas? That's awesome. Maybe if you keep shouting at it, she'll wake up and get back to work! Does anyone have any factual numbers handy that I can use in an arugument with the USAF? They're saying that an insluin pump carries a 75% chance of sever hypo annually. That makes me have a 100% chance of wanting to get out and get a real job...

Oh this group is great. I call my pancreas patty and I talk to her like she's a spoiled, free loading queen. What's that patty? you didn't like that piece of banana bread? What do you want then? Maybe if you worked a little harder, this wouldn't be a problem now would it.

Any "high altitude fun" out there?
In keeping with the spirit of food and fun; I was at a party with my kids the other day. My son looked at me and said " Hey Mom, Are you ready for a nap?" as he pointed at a loaded table of confections. Gotta love this guy that is turning into a young man. (his voice is going thru the changes big time.) No,I'm not ready for a nap.... it's party time!

Hello all- long time no talky. I'm still out here in Las Vegas, as my temporary duty up at Creech AFB (in the metropolis of Indian Springs, about 40 miles up the road) is just about over. GOOD NEWS: tricare finaly approved my CGMS! I guess there was some paperwork SNAFU but it's all good now--should be delivered today....to my house in Oklahoma. I smile at the irony. But on the "...let's keep it fun" side of things, at least I'll have another shiny gadget imbedded in my stomach to show off at the Christmas party!

Welcome to ALL the new members- please share your/somebody else's/your dog's story...and let's get this member number from (12) to (120) soon! Cheers!

Brian my highest number was 279. Although on the other hand my lowest was 51! So I think I kind of leveled them out.

good to see some new members already! sometimes a little sacrasm goes a long way with coping. My co-workers constantly make "dia-bettis" jokes- sure sometimes it gets old but I find myself joking about it more and more too...and smiling. :) Upload funny pictures/jokes/stories...or even a 13-carb-per-unit, yellow frosting-covered apple cake! Now THAT sounds good...even for somebody with "da dia-bettis". Cheers!
