I was just wondering for comparsion sake so I don't feel so bad about myself!
If who ever is comfortable with saying, how much does everyone weight and how much did you lose after becoming diabetic?
I am a 5'4" woman and I have always been thin my whole life. I weighed 130 lbs when I was diagnosed in Feb 2010 and I now weigh 100. I lost 25 lbs without even trying the first three months because of changing my diet and it stayed at 105 for a while and than I started to walk on the treadmill (because as diabetic we need to exercise even if we don't need to lose weight right?) and started doing toning exercises and lifting small weights and I seem to be gaining muscle (i can feel it) but I lost a couple more pounds!
I look too skinny! ugh! It is so frustrating!
I don't go to the doctor much because I dont' have any insurance but when you guys go do your doctors give you are hard time about your weight?
Has anyone heard from their doctors that it is bad to be too thin and be diabetic?

Permalink Reply by Type2Tommy on February 2, 2012 at 1:51pm I am still basically the same weight I've always been. When I got sick I lost about five pounds but I've actually gained three back. I have a few carbs with every meal and with my medicines they don't make me spike as high. But I really want to gain weight and have considered going on insulin just so I can eat certain things.
I got to my first appointment with an endocrinologist next month and I'm hoping that I can be a happier diabetic.
