We have a ride going across Canada for Juvenile Diabetes research starting on August 23 on the east coast and using twitter to give people the chance to experience it with us as we go... hoping for 2 - 3 times an hour. Also created a hashtag to follow #bbrw

Posted something on Aug 1st about it http://tudiabetes.com/group/twitterbetics/forum/topics/twitterbetic...

Hope to get some folks on board!

Why?

Because it is there (kidding).

Here are some paraphrased reasons from the folks who participated in the July "14,000 people with diabetes test their blood sugars at the same time online event," promoted by tudiabetes and other diabetes awareness and education advocates.

"I feel less alone."

"I was actually excited to test my bg when I knew other people were doing it at the same time."

"I worried that my number was high, but I saw all kinds of highs and lows and it was comforting to know that others deal with the ups and downs, too."

We "check" bgs and we post. It is unifying. Particularly when you see that you are not the only one who misses the mark.
