TuDiabetes - A Community for People Touched by Diabetes

I'm working with a small team to to put a big ride, the biggest bike relay in the world, across Canada in the name of Juvenile Diabetes research - with 100% of fundraising donations going to JDRF

We are starting on the east coast and moving west. This relay will consist of a core group of teams from each of the 8 provinces Accu-Chek Cyclebetes will cross. Each provincial team will consist of 5 adult riders (from elite to fit recreational riders) and 5 youth (whose lives have been touched by juvenile diabetes).

The key to this relay is that it will be accomplished on one tandem bicycle which will relay the Accu-Chek Aviva Nano blood glucose meter across the country. Each rider will take 1-3hr turns before rotating through other team members who will be following in the support RV’s travelling through the day time through some provinces and 24hrs a day through others.

We will be using twitter to broadcast the ride to the masses and make a real impact, not just in Canada, but in the world - that what makes this tool so powerful. But we can't do it alone, we need your help.

We will be creating a hashtag for the ride and hope that during this epic event you can follow and share our story, updates, photos, and videos.

Any takers? You can check out all the details of the ride here

Thanks,
Grant
