So,I'm 24 ,married and hope to have a baby in the near future but I'm having a little problem, when my husband being up the discussion of having a baby I get A bit annoyed. It's not that I don't want to but I'm scared and he takes that as me being selfish because he is scared too( which is understandable)but for me it's not the same thing, like does anyone understand what i mean when I say it's not the same. I understand diabetics have healthy babies all the time, but I'm still so fearful and he thinks I'm selfish! Help me out plz.

Hey Te I'm also married and a type one diabetic. I have had diabetes for 21 years. I just had a healthy baby girl on April 26 2011..being diabetic and pregnant is hard work but well worth it. When I found out I was pregnant my a1c at the time was 7.6 I quickly brought it down to 6.5 it stayed in this range throughout my entire pregnancy.. I also had my fears of something going wrong long story short I had a wonderful pregnancy, delivery if your numbers are good and you have no other problems I say relax and go for it! Diabetics have healthy babies all the time!

Thanks so much sharray for your response (sorry it took me s long to reply), i glad your pregnancy went well and ur baby girl is adorable. Thank for the encouragement and you give me hope. thank you:)
