Description;
Hi, we are group of friends which encourage people with diabetes and their family and friends to get active to make a difference to their condition. By participating in this group you will have fun, receive support, meet new people, improve your health, get fit, and get active! Diabetes doesn't have to be a reason to live a limited life. People with diabetes can do anything a non-diabetic can do. Exercise is one of the best ways to improve the health for diabetes. Muscles that are working use more glucose than inactive muscles, active muscles uptake more sugar into their cells which leads to better blood sugar control. Exercise helps improve diabetes, I know in my own life that exercise helps a great deal.
We will be arranging outdoor events in th UK. Activites such as walking, cycling, mountain climbing, Kyaking, and rock climbing. The group is for people who have diabetes or who's life is affected by it. The group is open to people who can travel to the event location in the UK. The group is for any fitness level, even if you haven't exercised in a long time you can still come! We will be going at a relaxed pace! We will not be speeding a long on a race to get to the end! People who are at a high level of fitness can come aswell of course.
By participating in this group you will gain more confidence about what you can do, you will feel better about your condition, you would have met some amazing people and you would have had a lot of fun!
There is no fixed price for each adventure you will just pay what you can and the costs involved.
You don't have to struggle with diabetes. Join our group!
