New to TU Diabetes.

Hi. My name is Andrew and I live in Berkshire where I have been for about 6 years which is a great place to live. I have had Type 1 Diabetes all my life - well 37 years and had a few complications not caused by poor control more just being unlucky I guess. I have had to have 10,000 burns in each eye with laser to prevent sight loss and also 2 Vitrectomy Operations which was not great. This in turn has given me really poor night vision so I am unable to drive in poor light and my left eye has damage to the central vision which is really annoying. On the whole I do feel ok though. I have always tried to look after myself and been on an Animas 2020 Insulin Pump for about 1 year and found it brilliant. My last hba1c was about 8 months ago and was 8.1 I think, I am due for my next check 25.2.09 so we shall see.

I also have my own Diabetes product web site called www.mypump.co.uk which is nothing like this web site at all but just gives numerous product details and where to find them.
