Hello everyone,

the NHS have set up a site for diabetics to register interest in being involved in research. It's at http://www.researchforthefuture.org/.

I think it looks fantastic, apparently many researchers find it hard to find diabetics to invite to studies. I expect this site and project will lower the costs and time of finding people, and so help us all.

I had a chat with the TuDiabetes admins who's asked that we discuss it - as UK diabetics who know about the NHS they'd like our input before they put a TuDiabetes "stamp of approval" on it.

Personally I think it's a great project to get involved in and spread the word about. I get a lot of strength from being involved in helping the search for a cure, even in small ways like answering questionnaires for students. It helps me feel that things might get better for us or even future generations.

What do you think?

This research initiative has been approved by the TuDiabetes Administration.
If my 41 years of experience of living with T1 diabetes can help in anyway shape or form, I'm all for helping with research. It might not help me in the future but hopefully any research they do now can help make life easier for future generations, even find a cure for it!
I use CGM and OmniPod. I am up for it. J
