TuDiabetes - A Community for People Touched by Diabetes

Okay, I'll try again.

First, I'm sorry that y'all got my question as an email. I don't expect someone from Ohio to know the answer to my question in Chicagoland.

Second, I was wondering if anyone knew of a good endo in the Chicagoland area; preferably, Chicago or the Far Northern suburbs. I know I can look one up in the Yellow pages, but I was wondering if anyone had good experiences with any.

Thanks for any help you can give me,

John

Hi John,

My Endo from Cincinnati went to Northwestern so has a few recommendations for you in Chicago:

Dr. Arati Wagh at Rush
Dr. Susan Sam at U of Chicago
Dr. Peter Kopp (more of a thyroid specialist)

Good luck!

Hi John,
I am tempted to tell you all the endo's I've seen, (and been frustrated with) but I think I'll just pass along the best I've heard. Dr. Lisa Purdy at North Shore Health. I haven't seen her because it takes too long to get an appointment.
I currently see Dr. Schikman, who I like, but who is often hard to get a hold of. (He's only in the office T & Th - at best). I can pass along more info if you'd like. - Molly Henthorne

Thank you, Molly. I'm originally from WI, but there seems to be one endo that my friend has told me about, and he doesn't go down to Kenosha County. Only seems to be around Milwaukee. Is North Shore Health in Chicago?

Thanks, again.

Dr. William Kerr at Evanston Hospital is considered to be one of the best Endos in the country. I have been seeing him for a while and he has done great things for me.

Thanks for your help, Mike. Sounds like a good MD! And Evanston is pretty close to me!
