I'm in Lincoln, NE. I've had type 1 for 24 years, but only recently have considered myself "good" at it. :)

I have to admit that I currently live in Alexandria, VA, but I was born and raised in Lincoln, NE and consider myself a Nebraskan/Midwesterner :) Just like to connect with others from the Heartland.

Free support group. The education center is located at 84th and Center in Omaha. I have only had excellence from the diabetes center, would expect the same with their support groups.

Does anyone know if there are support groups in the Omaha area?

I just want to say hello as a new member. I live in Wentzville (St. Louis area) and would like to go to a support group if there ever are meetings in the area. I was type 2 and had horrible BG control and ended up in the Hospital IC 3 weeks ago and now I'm on Insulin (Humalog and Lantus) as a type 1.5.I'm serious about Diabetes now and learned my lesson not to mess around with this Disease. Looking for education, encouragement and comraderie.
