I'd love to organize an afternoon or evening meal to celebrate World Diabetes Day.

Would you like to get involved? I was thinking a large relaxed restaurant somewhere near Boston, MA would be a good idea (I'm about 40 minutes north of Boston).

If I schedule something for the late afternoon of Saturday the 10th, or Sunday the 11th would you like to attend? Maybe sitting down around 5 PM and planning to be done by 7:30 PM.

Trust me, there's nothing like getting together with a group of fellow diabetics. You get a chance to share stories about equipment. Inject and test in public without embarrassment. It's awesome.

Please reply if might make it with a preferred location near Boston and which day would suit better. All are welcome to attend.

Hi Bernard,

Lunch on Sat Nov 10 in Woburn would be great. Count me in. Send the details when you are ready

I've added a note to this topic with details and directions.

The plan is to go to the pumpers group meeting in Woburn, MA from 9:30 to 12 noon. You don't have to attend but you'd probably enjoy this.

This group has been meeting for years and there are many different pumps and CGMS equipment being used. So it's a good chance to look at new equipment and ask questions.

After the meeting, we'll go nearby for lunch. And the lunch is really to celebrate World Diabetes Day.

Directions follow:

Directions to:
Baldwin Park 1
12 Alfred St.
Woburn----seconds from Rte 128

From Route 93 (North or South):
Take Exit #37 (Route 95/128 South) and follow the directions below

From Rte 128:
Take Exit #35 (Route 38).
Once in rotary, follow signs for Route 38 North - Wilmington.
Take a right at first traffic light (Alfred Street). Baldwin Park 1 will be on your left.
It is the first driveway after the restaurant. Go in the side door with the Winchester Hospital canopy.
We meet in the Keating room, third door on the right after you enter the building.
Hi Bernard,
I am interested but I never can get a babysitter. If you don't mind that, count me in.

This is a busy and noisy group and the meeting (9:30 to noon) would probably not be a good environment for a baby. I'll ask the organizer.

If she doesn't think it's a good idea for the meeting itself, I'll bet it's fine for the lunch immediately afterwards. Let me check and get back to you.
