TuDiabetes - A Community for People Touched by Diabetes

As you probably have gathered , my mom and I are relatively new to this..She is taking Actos, is THAT insulin? I saw on a discussion somewhere that you could safely take it with insulin, so what is it for?

Also how do we find our the AI c numbers or whatever it is called that you all keep quoting..We know that her sugar was over 400 in January and that she has it down to between 80-120..mostly in the 80-90s.

Thanks for this site..

Ok, I called and they did! When she went the first time back in January, her A1c was 8.4...and the last time that she went a month or so ago, it was 6.6, and isn't it supposed to be under 7?
