Hi everyone, I am in Prescott Valley. Just started seeing a new endo up here named Dr. Daniel Cadena, has anyone worked with him? He looked at my pump numbers, which have been doing the rollercoaster thing for a good year or two now at times, and he really simplified my basals and upped my correction ratio, and I'm suddenly back in control! My A1C was running around 7.1 lately, which isn't bad except as I say my BG's were all over the place, and when I did the home test yesterday I was down to 6.3, so I'm very happy so far. Unfortunately he also said I've been in Stage 2 kidney disease, and since my number is similar to past years (81), that makes me wonder why my prior endo in Phx never bothered to tell me...aggravating to say the least. Anyway, happy to have found this group as I work to get my control mojo back.

Does anyone know of any good endos in New Mexico? I'm not able to go to my other endo in Lubbock anymore

Dr. Karen Box IS a great endo! However, when I used one of her colleagues in Phoenix, I ended up pretty much on my own figuring out pump changes. Just make sure you get Dr. Box if you try her office.

I haven't seen this group before and just noticed Babs' post asking if anyone knew a good Las Vegas doctor. Just in case anyone is still looking, I have a great endo. Maria Nwokike on 6850 N Durango Ste 302 (at the hospital off the beltway in the NW) 750-2438. I am Type 1, and she has been wonderful!

Welcome Johnny! I'm in the Phoenix metro area too! Def. Type 1 here tho - for the past 42 years. Still pretty healthy tho and hoping to keep that going a while longer :-)

Hi folks, new to this site, though it might be a good place to meet people that get what we all go through on a daily basis. I live in the Phoenix az area and I was told I was type 1 but I'm not sure if that's true because I can totally control it with diet, just a little Lantus before bed and I'm good as long as I don't go crazy on carbs..anyways, hope everybody is doing good and staying strong!!;)
