Good luck with your appt if you have not had it yet and if you did update us on your progress. Ask lots of questions (even if you think they are not that important) make sure you have a person to contact following your appt. if you have additional questions........... Good Luck...... : > )........

Hi I live close to Tucson and I am a LADA diabetic. Will have my first Endo appointment in Tucson soon, any recommendations?

For people in the Phoenix area, I saw Dr. Kelly by Paradise Valley Hospital. he works out of Anasazi Internal Medicine (he is an internal doctor not an endo) but he has type 1 himself and I LOVED him!!!!!

I am not sure but I know all of my number have completely turned around I went from and a1c of 9.3 to yesterday went for appt and it was 6.5. The nutritionist is great I meet with her once a month to go over what I am eating and changes I can make and it has been a huge help. If it wasn't for the help that I have gotten there I don't know what I would have done. The thing I really like you can call them if you have concerns or problems and the will call back right away and answer any questions or adj meds as needed.

Hi all, I live in Phoenix and am new to the group (-:

Thanks for the comment regarding Mayo Clinic. I am considering looking into it. I have become very discouraged lately, and would really like to work with a supportive diabetes educator! Do you know if they follow the ADA guidelines, or are of the school of "tighter control" than ADA?

I go to Dr. Westphal at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale and also see the educator there and the nutritionist. I know how feel going someplace that your just not comfortable. The group at Mayo Clinic is great.

anyone know of any good endo's in the Phoenix area? I got kicked out of PCH last year (cause I was 22 lol) and have hated every one I have seen since.

Welcome Aaron. I would be interested to know what is the best thing that you have learned since being diagnosed in 1986.
