Hi Gayle, sounds like you guys know how to get the best out of Carp. another person a few months ago mentioned that their family rides from Carp to SB. I'm inspired. That sounds really fun and when my kids get a little older We'll have to try that. Hey, I'm in on this group! It will be fun to stay in touch.

Welcome Ethan. I love Carpinteria! WE camp up there a lot and do bike rides from Carp to Santa Barbara all the time. Hoping this group will grow a bit so we can have a Ventura Cty meetup sometime soon.

Look forward to connecting and reading peoples stories. I have had type 1 for about 34 years. What I like about it is Type 1's are proactive and generally maintain good energy around the issue of managing it.

Hi all,
This is for all the women in this group who are interested in getting together for some emotional support through the help of DiabetesSisters.org. I joined this group and have volunteered to start a PODS meeting in the area. The meeting is just about offering a safe, nurturing place we can get together for personalized peer support, regardless of how long or what type of diabetes you have. You can read all about it here:

http://www.diabetessisters.org/events/podsmeetups

I'm having the first meeting at my home on Wednesday, May 16th, at 7pm in Newbury Park. Please email me if you are interested and would like address/directions.

Hope you can make it!
