Every person is different of course, but my post-meal highs have almost been eliminated and I'm now using about 20 units less insulin per day. So for me the answer is yes.
Permalink Reply by Laura Anne Kilpatrick on April 16, 2012 at 6:15pm I have been on Victoza for over a year now and was able to see a difference in my post meal readings in about a week.
Permalink Reply by Brigitte on April 17, 2012 at 4:21am For me... not so much. It didn't change my morning highs at all. It did curb my apetite pretty much completely and helped me to realize that I was eating when I wasn't hungry but other than that... it isn't the wonder drug I had heard and hoped it to be.
Permalink Reply by Len A on June 1, 2012 at 2:36am I've been on 1/2mg a day for about a month and very few spikes. I am also on lantus and met. Have been gradually reducing the units of Lantus because I was getting below 70 fastings quite frequently. I have to say I think victoza has something to do with this. I've lowered my carbs quite a bit and been more active, but on the rare occasions that I slip on this the spike would be nowhere near would it would be before this drug. I just hope once I get a prescription it will be affordable.
