Every person is different of course, but my post-meal highs have almost been eliminated and I'm now using about 20 units less insulin per day. So for me the answer is yes.

I have been on Victoza for over a year now and was able to see a difference in my post meal readings in about a week.

For me... not so much. It didn't change my morning highs at all. It did curb my apetite pretty much completely and helped me to realize that I was eating when I wasn't hungry but other than that... it isn't the wonder drug I had heard and hoped it to be.

I've been on 1/2mg a day for about a month and very few spikes. I am also on lantus and met. Have been gradually reducing the units of Lantus because I was getting below 70 fastings quite frequently. I have to say I think victoza has something to do with this. I've lowered my carbs quite a bit and been more active, but on the rare occasions that I slip on this the spike would be nowhere near would it would be before this drug. I just hope once I get a prescription it will be affordable.
