Melissa, I appreciate that you are here to help me. I will take any suggestions. I always must go thru the ransplant clinic first. But keep trying to give me any thing that should help me. Keep in touch.....

Ugh! So I was no help then with that... I hope that you can find something that works for you. I know it's got to be a challenge, and since I have no knowledge regarding transplants or amputations and the problems/restrictions resulting from them, all I can do is be here to support you then. Good luck, Debe, and please do keep us posted on how you are doing.

Debe, Thank you - and good luck to you! Have you thought about discussing your diet with your doctor for suggestions on ways to maximize weight loss? I drink a lot of water, decaf green tea and have found some natural supplements that helped me to lose the weight I have. Also, if it's any help, when I took prednisone years ago, I gained a lot of weight too - I took it for about six months and gained nearly what you did. At that time, the doc said most of it was due to the prednisone. Don't lose hope - keep up the good work! You're a wonderful inspiration to me... *hugs*

Hi all! I'm new here, and a newly diagnosed type 1 diabetic as well. I lost ~112 pounds over the past 2 years, and I have 17 more pounds I want and need to pull off. Right now, with my doctor's approval and supervision, I'm following a low carb/1400 calorie per day/high protein diet and exercising, including walking 20 minutes each day. Good luck to all of you in losing those stubborn pounds!

Hello Everyone !!!! I am new to this site. I had a transplant and took massive doses of prednisone and then lower doses of predinsone for a year. I have gained 30#'s and my MD said it wasn't due to prednisone. Allot of people said it does. Well needless to say, I need to get this weight off. I am an amputee and loss a lot of muscle mass when I was in a coma 44 days. After a year of therapy, I can now walk with a cane an assistance. Am I going to lose anything with little activity at this time? I do alot of exercises on my bed and in my wheelchair. I eat well at 1500 ADA a day. I just got a bike but need assistances getting on and off. Any suggestions. I do walk 10-15 minutes a day, slow with help.. Thank you!!!

Hey, hey, hey!!! I've got great news!!! So far I've lost 13 lbs!!! (Whoo-hoo!!!) All I've really been doing is increasing my water intake & trying to eat smaller portions. Imagine how much I would lose if I actually exercised regularly! I'm so stoked!!!

Hello. New here. I was diagnosed as Type 2 last November. Since then I've lost a little over 50lbs and 4 dress sizes. I've been stuck now for a few months at my current weight. Joined to see what others are doing and get some advice. Plus give some advice as well. We can do this!
