My cousin used to raise pigs and cattle. when the neighborhood kids wanted to name them...he said "we don't name the bacon."

And now we have piglets, too.

Ahhh...Spring is here (to stay, me hopes!) 78 F degrees earlier...now at 6 pm it's 70! Looking forward to planting something...ANYTHING! Some tomato plants...cucumbers...can't plant greens though as I share my garden with greedy bunnies! I even posted a "No Rabbits Allowed" sign on the garden fence, but you know rabbits!!

Badmoon, I had friends to stay with in Springfield and was looking at Peace valley and loads other places. Lots of nice acres out that way!

Don't forget gardeners. My theory is that if you make friends with enough gardeners you don't even need to raise one yourself, you can just live off their surplus. I have some ground venison also, the ground pork sounds like a good idea.

Heck yeah! Hunters/fishermen are the best friends to have ;) Tomorrow night is gifted ground venison, mixed with a little ground pork for moisture (fat) and made into burgers. Probably my spaghetti squash/ricotta/tomato bake with it.

Boy do we eat well :)

Speaking of 'real' food... tonight I pan fried a huge MD rockfish filet caught by a carpenter friend. Just butter, salt, pepper and a little dill, with steamed asparagus. Holy moley, was it good!

I live in the Ozarks and used to work with a lady who rode mules with her husband, kept them in a pasture across from where I work. Small world.

Reading this I have to tell you all. 10 years ago I was gonna move to the USA. Had a place right on the Ozark's picked out for my mule riding, and a few Mule Packing/riding friends around that way. sadly the sale of my place fell through then. Now I'm past it. But I know I'm living in the wrong country still. It's gotta be a compromise now. I love being amongst people who know how to be real,if you get my drift? So many folks are spoon feed and have tin openers that get worn out!I love reading this stuff here!
