Comment by Linda G on July 9, 2012 at 6:28pm Hey....not knocking it! I come from a long line of "strong willed" people....that's what's a big plus in the battle of the fittest....especially if the cards you were dealt are not all the best!!!

Comment by Doris D on July 9, 2012 at 4:07pm Thanks peetie!!!
LOL! Yep I get some of my stubborness from my dad. Got to give him credit for giving me that! LOL!
Comment by Peetie on July 9, 2012 at 2:56pm Congratulations Doris!

Comment by Linda G on July 9, 2012 at 9:41am Too funny Doris....stubborn or what (your dad I mean...well...you too ha ha ) When our daughter Danielle was born in '84, one of the family getting announcements was my Godmother. She insisted for the longest time on naming her by her middle name...Anaïs (pronouced Ana-eece), because she felt it was not only pretty, but unusual (old French). Hey...as grand parents/great aunts or whatever...we can try!!! They were going to name our first grandson Jackson, 'till I opened my big mouth and said "like Michael Jackson?"...that became "Mason"!!

Comment by Doris D on July 9, 2012 at 8:37am Amber who is due November 17th just found out she's having another girl!!! Life is so blessed!!!!

Comment by Doris D on July 9, 2012 at 8:27am Thanks Pup!! I knew I wasn't the only one who liked Jacob! LOL! She was going to name him Brice Dale and I worked hard for Jacob! LOL!

Comment by Doris D on July 9, 2012 at 8:26am LOL! Linda I will do what my dad done when I had Amber...he didn't like her name so he always called her Ambee. He done that til the day he died! LOL! He was the only one who ever called her that! LOL! Maybe the way I am with Jacob Brice! LOL!
Thanks Trudy!
Comment by Trudy on July 9, 2012 at 7:14am Congratulations, Doris. Jrtpup, my goodness, I don't have those ingredients! -- but, I'll keep them in mind for the next time. I do keep Benadryl and Aveeno's Non-itch Lotion around all year. I'm sorry I can't keep steroids around, they would have been justified. Today I'm pretty much covered with the stuff, but I'm going to try to wait it out. The palm of my right (mouse) hand is blistered, which is the clue to what happened: I pet a dog with poison ivy on its coat! Ughhhh.

Comment by jrtpup on July 8, 2012 at 6:17pm Trudy, I'm not a doc, but I've found that a mixture of tea tree oil, calendula extract and a few drops of oil of oregano is a huge help for poison ivy. Drys it up, takes away the itching, prevents any infection. Mix with a carrier oil, like almond oil. Hope you feel better soon!!
Doris, congrats! I like Jacob too :)

Comment by Linda G on July 8, 2012 at 5:21pm Ha ha ha Doris....like you have a say in the matter lol ;)
