This is great stuff ;) It makes me smile - simple, but never enough of it!

Thanks, and keep it coming.

Over the years, this site has helped me solve diabetes related problems, because we are all afflicted with this chronic disease. We can help each other in ways a doctor cannot because we live it everyday. The people here understand the problems, frustrations, and have a vast pool of knowledge which has helped me many times.

And I hope that my experiences can help others in this community.

When I joined TuDiabetes, my son Eric, then 18 months old, had only been diagnosed about 2 weeks previously and I was still scared out of my mind. No one I knew had ever dealt with Type 1 diabetes, and I didn't know what I was doing... and I was unsure whether I would ever figure it out. TuDiabetes was just ~1600 members then, but they welcomed me and gave me the comfort of information and experience — it was enormously helpful. Heck, just knowing they were there and that they "got it" — understood what I was going through — offered a tremendous lift to my spirits. Never underestimate the power of the thought, "If they can, I can!" Any time I'm stymied, confused, or down about Eric's condition (and/or my handling of it), TuD is there to help me work through it. "Join TuD" is the first recommendation I make now to the newly diagnosed.

I love the friendships I have gained from being on TuD. I have belonged for almost 3 years and watched the DHF grow from about 11,000 to its current size. Lately, unfortunately, due to personal and health problems I haven't been on the site as much as I would like. Hopefully, these problems will settle down and I can be more involved with TuD. It gives me strength to continue with my Diabetes problems.

What TuDiabetes has done for me....what it means to me....
Well, I have been here for over 4 years...so I certainly would not be here if it had NOT helped. I think TuDiabetes has been my point of crystallization since my official diagnosis in 2006 (I say "official", as I'm fairly certain that I had diabetes for a while, prior to that point). This is where I come to relax...this is where I come to meet up with friends who are true and supportive....this is where I come to be with those who "get it".....and this is where I come to offer support. Tu.diabetes is a great place to connect, to share, to support and to learn...all the while meeting new people the world over and making lasting new friends! This is my second home!
Still looking for pics....funny I can't seem to find any so far!

I forgot this too: "For he to-day that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile, this day shall gentle his condition..." Henry V

Where else can I say "I'm a T1 D for 37 years, on MDI and wow I have been high all week" and have people not only understand but also offer suggestions on a way to not be high. D is a battle every single day and it is far easier to wage the war with fellow "soldiers" than to do it by myself.
And AR that will be 100 BBT's or $ 500 Tu$$ your choice lol.

How do you measure the work of volunteers?

329,040 minutes, 329,040 moments so dear. 329,040 minutes — How do you measure, measure volunteers? In smileys, in tears shed, in counsel, in cups of coffee. In units, in carb counts, in laughter, in strife. In 329,040 minutes – how …
