TuDiabetes - A Community for People Touched by Diabetes

A few days ago , Mr Philip, one of the mayors of my city, said Ok to light in blue, one floor of his city hall. There are 9 city halls in Lyon. It will be the first time ! And there will be a conference about type 2 !!
I'm with this event as the ambassador of TuDiabetes for France and I hope to find some new members but the language is an important frontier! I really hope it will be a great first day here!
So what will happen in your towns? I think we can start a discussion about our experiences. What do you think about that?

Great Job! I have been trying for two years to have the St. Louis Arch lit in blue. This year I did get the information to Washington DC, but after that I could not get anyone to respond to me. I am so frustrated, but my girlfriend heard on the radio the local ADA was telling everyone to light up their homes with blue lite tonight. They talked about the world wide monument lighting challenge which gets the word out locally, so though we do not have a blue Arch, I know a lot more people are finding out about the event. So, little victories this year, greater ones in the future - I hope.

it's not easy. Today the official association of diabetics in Lyon were in a big commercial center and I talked to them. They didn't understand why I wanted to have my city hall in blue, they can't understand what is TuDiabetes and why this special day we can talk about diabetes. My mayor is a very nice man, he is a great doctor (cancer) and he is very human. When I asked him he told me "it's ok" It was so great! We have 9 city halls in Lyon. I hope next year they will shine together and do more for our community. I know St Louis Arch, my father sent me a postcard of it when I was 12 years old, he was travelling to USA for his job, to visit American factories. I still have this postcard. I hope next year the Arch will shine in blue. thank you.

One of the buildings at Los Angeles International Airport has blue lights today. For some reason, I did not see this earlier on the web. I believe the first year the LAX Airport Gateway was lite in blue for World Diabetes Day was in Nov. 2007. So sorry for miscommunication about Los Angeles earlier.
