If your pancreas is still functioning, give it a chance

Insulin should be a last resort. Even if you're autoimmune like me (LADA), there's hope. People will argue this up and down, especially the insulin industry, but I'm proof, and I'm not alone. It's a hard road. Giving up my alcohol and food addictions was serious business. But my body has responded to a little TLC by bringing an A1c of 11.1 down to below 5.5 and staying there so far. Will it last? Who knows. But I'm in the best shape I've ever been in and will keep living this way no matter what. If a beer guzzling, fried food shoveling guy like me can do it, others can too. Don't worry. The pharmaceutical industry can survive without us. If you want more of my story, you're welcome to check out my blog russellstamets.blogspot.com

Please share your stories here. It's only through conversation that all the puzzle pieces of this thing can be laid out.
