Black and white photos have so much detail. It tends to hold my attention. This is why I convert so many of my photos to sepia or black and white.

stretch your arms
i stretch my arm
and the magic will come
running
to both our arms
we will hug magic
kiss magic on his
both cheeks
and send him
magic
to distribute our kisses
to the so called world
so the world will smell
at least for a while
with the scent
of magic
the scent
of my kisses
and yours!!!!

I don't know why, but that description of sewing really got my mind rambling today. I grew up lower middle-class and had to make my own clothes. 30 years ago, when I took a job at the investment co where I still work today, we had a strick dress code and I made all of my suits - meticulously tailored. I had all the fancy pressing gadgets, etc. Over the years, our dress code has softened greatly, to the standard that most days women wear flip flops, capri pants and sleeveless blouses. Sure, it's more comfortable, but I really miss getting all duded up and looking sharp...............oh well.

Okay that dress was the design project from hell----silk twill and my ancient sewing machine wouldn't sew a straight line on the twill weave. But I was incredibly proud of the dye job. The lace was 125.00/ yard and Ray bought just 1/4 yard of it and I had to dye to match. Very subtle mix of 3 colors and very tricky and with some sort of cosmic intuition, I got it right. Still amazes me.

And the pattern was an adaptation of a 1930s pattern that I found at a garage sale.

However, if you ever get the chancde to fondle silk twill after it's been washed---it's like whipped cream!
