I love Tom! And I know that trial had a very profound affect on him.

Hey Tom, I know this photo is from June, but I was wondering if you are still enrolled in the study? I am getting ready to start it, and I'm excited! I hope the Dex 7 works for me (I tried a CGM from Minimed a few years ago and didn't like it).

I noticed the omnipod. Are there 2 abott navigators because it is a trial- to make sure it is all working ok. Just wondering why 2?
Thanks
=)

So there are three devices on my arms in this pic. Two are Abbott Navigator sensors (the receivers are in my hands) - I use the Dexcom Seven Plus but for this trial it was Navigators. The third device is the Omnipod insulin pump from Insulet. For the artificial pancreas trial the computers took the real time data from the sensors, made decisions, and fed instructions to the pump - all wirelessly - the system delivered far better control than I did for myself. Was a very cool experience - can highly recommend participating in trials!
