My Letter of Advice and Encouragement to someone just like you.

Posted on April 6, 2011 at 7:48pm 6 Comments

I receive emails and messages from so many wonderful people. I want to say thank you so much for taking the time to do so, and express yourself. Of the messages I get, some really hit me hard. The ones that revolve around the struggle of being a teenager with diabetes the most.

I recently received a message from someone living that struggle. They are alone, depressed, and not taking good control of their diabetes. Doing random amounts of insulin, not testing their blood sugars, and… Continue

Our Annual Campaign is coming!

Would you consider helping by writing a short comment/testimonial about your
experiences at TuD? The main message for the campaign this year is that no
one with diabetes should ever feel alone. Messages from our community give
people a real-life, personal sense of how valuable TuDiabetes is to each of
us, how it's changed our lives, etc.

If you can, please include a photo of you doing something diabetic (if that
makes sense LOL). Please post to this group
(http://www.tudiabetes.org/group/why-i-participate-in-this-community), or message to me from my page.

Thanks my friends!

Hey Bill

So great to meet you in Phila! Most of the pics of you and I actually turned out to be pics of the photographer LOL. This one is pretty nice though, enjoy!

Hope you got home safely and have recovered.

Hi bill, i watched your recent video this morning and you are just the passionate, optimistic, gracious person i would like my son to be as an adult. he is 13 diag at 10, he is responsible, intellegent and by no means a risk taker, so he is well equipt to handle his D and does well, he is just very self concious, does not want to connect with others ( i get it he wants to deal with it and forget it) and feels that i do not understand. he is good when things are going good, when things arent well he can be defiant, sad and angry like when i needed to wake him up to check him last night because i put him to bed at over 300 thanks to a carb fest with dad on duty, ( really he ussually does well with him but clearly some bad choices last night) so it was a rough night but my heart is a little less heavy seeing your attitude, i try to instill these values in him and someday i hope he will be like you! best wishes, amy
