Brad Ringer replied to 2TonTommy's discussion 'G4 charging issue' in the group Dexcom Users
"No problems yet for me, other than forgetting to charge the darn thing. The system 7 was much more persistent in reminding me. I keep my charger at home, so of course my G4 died when I was out for an entire day. After reading a prior post, I am very…"

Dondi replied to 2TonTommy's discussion 'G4 charging issue' in the group Dexcom Users
"It is so dumb the way they use a non-stamdard charge system. Why don't they just use a standard USB charger like a cell phone. So stupid just to create inconvenience for the sake of making a few more dollars."

TmoeZ replied to 2TonTommy's discussion 'G4 charging issue' in the group Dexcom Users
"Me too, but like Parrformance mentioned I just unplug it and plug it in again and it usually does the trick. Also, make sure you keep the closure closed when not charging. Dust and debris is a huge culprit of that."

G4 charging issue

have been using the G4 for about 3 months. Every time I want to charge the receiver I plug it into the wall and nothing happens. I have waited up to 1 minute and still no lightening bolt. What I need to do is unplug it and immediately plug it back into the wall and only then does it begin to charge. I have to do this every single time. Anyone else have this experience?See More

2TonTommy commented on Rob's group 'Dexcom Users'
"Laura, I get mine from Amazon and it's made by Ferndale. Search for: "Mastisol Liquid Adhesive, Latex-Free, 2 fl oz" It varies in price. The $11 one might be the spray bottle. I never tried that."

2TonTommy commented on Rob's group 'Dexcom Users'
"OK. Maybe my saying it's like super glue was a slight exaggeration. It is VERY sticky though. After using it to tack down the tape on the Dex sensor/transmitter and leaving it in place for 6 or 7 days it comes off rather easily."

2TonTommy commented on Rob's group 'Dexcom Users'
"I use Mastisol. It's like Super Glue for skin. Mastisol is a non-irritating, hypo-allergenic, liquid medical adhesive. When the tape starts to peel after 6 or 7 days I dip a q-tip in Mastisol and wipe the area of skin under the peeled away tape…"

2TonTommy replied to 2TonTommy's discussion 'G4 calibration question' in the group Dexcom Users
"When it comes to often to calibrate, I guess the bottom line is don't do it unless the Dexcom and your fingerstick differ by more than say 25%. Any thoughts?"

Helmut replied to 2TonTommy's discussion 'G4 calibration question' in the group Dexcom Users
"HPNpilot raised the pivotal question: How good is the finger stick value? I will never forget that for my very first calibration the 2 values were 90 & 130. Unbelievable. I had no idea that I to wash my hands. These days I only calibrate when 2…"

HPNpilot replied to 2TonTommy's discussion 'G4 calibration question' in the group Dexcom Users
"As Holger says, depending on the algorithm used to fit the calibration inputs to the data, overfitting is possible, which can increase the error rate. Here is a picture taken from wikipedia that may help explain: In the example above, a polynomial…"
