"No issues with lap swimming but I wear a 1 piece suit so the sensor in under my suit. If open to the movement of laps, I imagine the tape will need good over ride. Was also wondering about hot tub. Look forward to the answers."

Sensor Transmitter

Can you wear the sensor transmitter in the hot tub? I know you can wear it in water but I was curious about the hot tub. Also, any issues people have had lap swimming with the transmitter?

"I switch pumps quite a bit too Andy. I notice I need slightly different settings on one vs the other so be mindful of unexplained highs or lows when you switch back and forth. $150 for a new pump and CGMS? Wow good deal."

New Pump

Posted on August 24, 2011 at 12:07pm 2 Comments

So I was on the Omnipod for a while. It was pretty good. But I found to forget to change a pod, add a pod, etc. I'd go 2-3 days without insulin (a type 2).

I returned to my roots about a month or two ago. Minimed called me at my parents' house and asked if I wanted to upgrade for $10. Of course I said yes. With the CGM feature added, it was only a total of $150 to upgrade. So I'm on the new Minimed 723 Revel w/ CGM.

I still have my Omnipod and stuff. Actually have a large… Continue

Struggling

I suffer from long-term depression. I see a psychiatrist and started seeing a counselor. I take 3 depression meds: Wellbutrin, Celexa, and Lamictal. Last 3 weeks have been really tough. More suicidal thoughts than usual.

I definitely haven't been doing good with diabetes. I haven't tested in over a month. I haven't worn my pod in forever (type 2). I definitely lack on insulin. I was doing Quick Weight Loss Center diet but lost focus. Now I've been eating tons of sweets and some… Continue

New Counselor

Posted on August 8, 2010 at 8:21pm 5 Comments

Well, I took a leap of faith and found another counselor on Saturday. This one accepts insurance right then and there. He's in the office with the psychiatrist. He's from Chicago and also specializes

in sleep studies as well as psychology. I'm not sure if he's a

Christ-follower or not. He says the Bible is the most beautifully

written book on earth and is written by God. He also said part of his

counselor training included training by 2 theologians. He…
