I have a few diabetes vids on utube. a geezer going by the handle 'jimsspew' contacted my via utube saying thanks for the vids that i have posted. then, just yesterday, he told me about this site. it feels strange wanting to be here. im no different from anyone, i just need to get my insulin from different places other than my pancreas... still lets see where this community goes... there no such thing as to much support!!

diabetic beer drinkers unite!! i have been so good lately... its hard. im off to sydney this weekend to visit my sister. we like to drink. i must be strong. maybe red wine is the answer. thats what jim allison says i should do, so help me ill just take his advice!

well just joined TU diabetes!
thanks to jimsspew from utube for reccomending this site.
I am completely blown away by how cool this site is. i have been here for about three hours, checking it all out. just learnt that you can have dogs that look after you during hypos and hypers. cool!!
well ive never needed wanted cared could be bothered about blogging before, but ill try keep this one going.
it may not always be about diabetes either... watch this space!

Abe, I'm envious of your ability to go anywhere in Australia and get a VB. It's one of the best beers I've ever had, and it has been many years since I last had one. I wish it were available here in the states - it would be an instant success.

Haha and yea his name is Wilford Brimley, he serves as the spokesperson for the american diabetes association..... and i have no idea why, Hes possible 300 pounds and every time i see him on the tv he comes riding up on a horse in slow motion in a cowboy suit and pronounces diabetes diabeeeeeetus its almost unreal to watch ahaha!

I was curious about that byron bay you mentioned, so i did a quick search on google image and all that popped up was pics of beautiful half naked women... you lucky lucky man lol! But things are good, I'm on my summer break working a part time job at a music venue for the
boston symphony, fun job. My fourth of july weekend was cool, i got to shoot a short film for one of my upcoming film classes, If you want to check it out i'll send you a link when I'm done with it... its got some amazingly bad but good american 80's music in the background. I'll ttys Abe, cha cha cheeeeeerss!

I have used a pump since 1995ish? Or so and I would never go back to taking shots. It’s a much easier way of doing things, much safer to drink alcohol with since you can turn off the insulin if you go low and can’t eat unlike long acting with shots and a lot less drama to use in general. I used to take shots for many years before. The pump is much easier and more effective way to go. Everyone should use a pump even non-diabetics!
