Have you tried using a different bottle of insulin? Sometimes a bottle can go bad and become less effective (or not effective at all).

You should always make sure you have something with you. Either money, food or glucose tablets, ANYTHING to keep your sugar up if something like that happens. I've unfortunately put myself in your same position a few times and have been lucky noth...

All the sudden the past week I've been high no matter what I did, even after correction boluses. The first day thought it was stress b/c I had eye surgery but we are coming up on six days and no change. I up'ed all my basal rates by .5 and now see...

I have fairly dry skin, and it itches, was told it can be worsened by diabetes. I like Aveeno and if you have problems with itchy skin Aveeno makes packets of like and oatmeal bath that you can soak in, works great.

My "spare" is the one I use when I change pods so it is never in my bag more than three days. I have only had one pod failure and I'd already been wearing the pod for almost two days. I've been using the Omni Pod since March. Good Luck!

I take Reglan, but it did not work by itself, I take it three times a day and Prescription strength Prilosec twice a day and it is doing pretty good. Not real bloated, no pain and less gas problems like acidic burps, etc. There are different doses...

Does your general practioner have an on call? or does your area have a first nurse program? I'd go that route first and if nothing pans out, personally I'd say you could wait til morning but it's all about how you feel about the situation.

I've had maybe two since starting in March come loose but I did it and I was able to "fix" it b/f it caused a failure. I used tape or those patches they put over iv sites and it worked just fine. Good Luck

My day

Had a garage sale today, stayed outside today from about 9AM to 8PM, what a day! Of course I did not eat well today, ate out for lunch and dinner, too busy to cook! Made a good chunk of money at my sale but should've checked my sugars more often today, and forgot to bolus for dinner til two hours after I ate it!! Sometimes we just have those kind of days I suppose. Met a very nice lady who was also diabetic but they would not let her start any pump therapy due to a condition which I have now for… Continue

Blogging

I would love to write a daily blog and get paid for it! Who wouldn't right? Some days my life is completely boring but sometimes "our" boring is interesting to someone else! Diabetes and other health problems while trying to raise a toddler (and a husband) is very challenging and some days pretty interesting. Right now I'm trying to figure out my yo-yo blood sugars from exercising and trying to remember to check my sugars when I get too busy with other parts of life! Trying to teach a 19mo old l… Continue

I think I was at about three miles or so. Well little known to me at the time it worked PERFECT!! When we got home my bs was 99 YEAH!! Ok so then after all that hard work I ended up having a sundae from McD's. which could of been worse, it cou… Continue

Pump therapy and ME!

Well after many years of type 1 diabetes, 23yrs to be exact I was ready to get a pump. What made me decide to get the pump? Well I'd just the yr before given birth to my daughter and had a horrible pregnancy which made my diabetes worse along with all the other health conditions diabetes tends to bring along and I decided I wanted to be here for my daughter PLUS I found out the Omni Pod was available where I live! One of my biggest irritations about a pump before was I did not want to feel like… Continue
