Alisonisayoshi replied to RacheEH's discussion 'A no carb approach' in the group Dr. Bernstein Diabetes Solution Group
"In a zero carb situation you have glucogenisis and glucoenogenisis. Your body will produce glucose. It is fundementally built to do it (glycolysis and the Krebb cycle happen at a cellular level). Personally, I'm fairly Paleo and I still eat…"

Alisonisayoshi replied to S Lew's discussion 'Thinking about Omni POD' in the group OmniPod Users
"My endo pushed Medtronic as well, because they have been in the game a long time. After my success with Omni, he now pushes the pod as well! A1C reduced from 8.7 to 5.7 in under a year for me! I love tubeless, and I would never go to tubed. I…"

"I completed my first completely successful new pod last night - it ran to the full 80 hours. I can't see any correlation with the unit numbers in the lot; all the pods were L40420. I had to deactivate my previous pod a while back because of…"

"I'm using the "old"...and will not be getting the "new" as I have been "blacklisted" by Insulet...as we have had a tremendous hate/hate relationship since I started on the pod, and I have left a barrage of…"

"I tried an experiment after my previous post using my old PDM; I pulled the batteries for 7 hours. On re-inserting them I get a 'pod error' and have to enter the time/date (as would be expected) but all the other information is retained. I…"

"I had the battery problem with the old pod, not once, but twice and in each case, Insulet immediately sent a new pdm and I sent the old one back. Finally got a working one and all was well. I also notice less of a high at change time with the new…"

Jack's Mom replied to Alisonisayoshi's discussion 'Failure after Failure' in the group OmniPod Users
"Just a quick comment. Are you on old pod or new pod? We always had the post change highs on the old one but almost never on the new one which has been a blessing. Good luck with everything."

Steve D replied to Alisonisayoshi's discussion 'Failure after Failure' in the group OmniPod Users
"I agree that the pod itself shouldnt be affected by a pdm battery change...but for some reason it deactivates my pod and starts the change process ever time I change the batteries! it is VERY annoying (especially when it happens in the middle of the…"

"Sorry to hear about the latest Steve. Good luck with the Solo. It looks like there is even less information on the official site than before, if that is even possible. I would love to see viable competition to Insulet in the tubeless pump arena, but…"

jbowler replied to Alisonisayoshi's discussion 'Failure after Failure' in the group OmniPod Users
"This sounds like a PDM fault; expired batteries shouldn't zap the link to the pod, and even with the old pod/PDM the post-change highs people reported only lasted a few hours (and could be fixed easily by an appropriate post change bolus.)"

Alisonisayoshi replied to Alisonisayoshi's discussion 'Failure after Failure' in the group OmniPod Users
"My control went from the 7-8 range to a 5.7, but everybody's user experience is different. I'm sorry that yours has been so poor. I would consider the solo, as its a 90 day disposable if only they would make it WATERPROOF!!!!"

Clare replied to Alisonisayoshi's discussion 'Failure after Failure' in the group OmniPod Users
