A liitle bit about us
Our son Aleksi was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes one month after his 4th birthday. Only then did I discover that Finland has the highest incidence of type 1 Diabetes in children in the world. We have a great routine at the moment involving Levemir and Novorapid injections(up to 6-7 a day) with only the occasional protest! We have a wonderful diabetic nurse and named Doctor , providing us with great care and support. The next challenge is the start of school in August, just another little hurdle along the way!
As of May 2010 Aleksi started on th Minimed Paradigm Veo pump - so far so good!

On another note, I am American, but my ancestors were Finnish. When I was diagnosed with diabetes, they asked me specifically if I had Finnish ancestors. I guess that they really find a higher number of type 1 diabetics in Finland compared to other countries. I wonder why this is?
