"I also keep mine on the fridge until I am ready to use it. Then as long as you keep it out of extreme temperatures it should be just fine. I personally don't like to use cold insulin, I find it hurts more when I inject it!"

Every time I color my hair, no matter what shade, it always fades fast. Oh and it's not box color I go in and get it done. I am thinking it might be because of taking insulin. Are there any other insulin users out there that experience similar problems? Or does my hair just not play nice with color?

Who am I?
I was diagnosed with diabetes when I was 6 years old. No one else in my family has diabetes, just lucky me! Although I have been diabetic for so long I try not to let it get me down. I live my life as close to normal as possible.
I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 8 years. He is the love of my life and I am thankful for everyday we get to spend together. We have two absolutely beautiful sons! Cyrus is 7 and Malakai is 2. I also have a 2 year old bull mastiff dog named Guinevere and a 12 year Siamese cat named Stormy.
Currently I am a cashier at a grocery store. Definitely not my dream job, but it will do for now!
I love spending time with my family first and foremost. I am a very passionate cook, from appetizers to desserts, I love doing it all! I also love to do outside stuff; gardening, camping, walking, swimming, if it is outside I probably like doing it. Reading is also a passion of mine. Chicago sports teams are my favorite. I am a die-hard Cubs and Bears fan, no matter how bad or good they are doing, you will always find me cheering!
Well that is enough for now, don't want to bore anyone!

Hair Color

Every time I color my hair, no matter what shade, it always fades fast. Oh and it's not box color I go in and get it done. I am thinking it might be because of taking insulin. I am sooooo thrilled! I received my copy of the "No Sugar Added Poetry" book today! It took me by surprise because I wasn't even expecting it! I have only read a few of the poems so far, but I love what I have read. I can't wait to share it with everyone, so far those people I have shown want a copy for themselves. Beautifully put together! Thank you everyone who took part in putting this together it is a unique and inspiring work of art for those with diabetes!
