Thanks Ami. Your words are greatly appreciated. It seems like a whirlwhind. Today, they tested Anna for Celiac's disease because of her eratic numbers. Hmmm...

Yay, a baby girl! My baby girl was born March 14...and she'll be 11 this year and is in MIDDLE SCHOOL. So exciting for the two of you, sorry to hear about the bedrest. Bleh. Isaac and I went to pump class earlier this month...he was all about the pod, I really thought the ping was cool, and he came out of there having decided on the minimed. Ha! I have no idea...but he's doing his saline trial this week and we're hoping to be pumping insulin by mid-February. We'll likely switch to the Omnipod when he's a little bigger...the dang thing took up half the real estate on his tummy, and he couldn't stand the way it felt on his body. He's overall doing pretty well. Today was not good...457 for no apparent reason, corrected him and he dropped to 45 in less than two hours. Hate this stuff. But he's good now, and we're moving on! Would love to meet and catch up with you. Can't wait to see pictures! Does she have a name yet?

Ami! Not sure if you remember me...you used to work with my sister Marie at Z. My 5 year old son was diagnosed in September and we're scheduled for pump eligibility class next Wednesday. Really leaning toward the OmniPod...I see you've previously used the Minimed but prefer the pod. If you get a chance, any info/pros/cons you could provide would be so helpful. Hope you are well and happy! Sara

Rock on! But just so you know, I'm no hero (though I could live with being famous someday, haha).

My pups are pure crazy joy for me...try my patience and teach so much. Good thing they're so cute!

Speaking of memories - I was checked in to the hospital to get put on one of the first version of the pump (must have been in 92 or so) - and my dad was still fighting for coverage even as they started me on it. I don't have the financial buffer my parents have though now...

So I'll keep my fingers crossed until I hear from the independent organization - by Aug. 30th.

Thanks for the add and I'm glad to be your friend. How's Seattle?
